Supported living is a personalised approach to care and support, designed to empower individuals to build the life they want and work towards their aspirations. Everyone’s journey is unique, which is why supported living is tailored to meet a wide range of needs and circumstances.
Support can include assistance with personal care, managing finances, booking appointments, developing social connections, and much more. The key is flexibility—ensuring that the support fits the person, not the other way around.
At its heart, supported living is about helping you achieve your most independent, autonomous, and fulfilling life. It’s about working together to create a plan that enables you to thrive on your own terms while providing the right help when you need it.
Prudent Supported Living is a trusted provider of care and support for individuals with autism, learning disabilities, mental health challenges, and complex needs. Through our partnership with Beacon Supported Housing CIC, we assist the people we support in finding and securing their own tenancies in the Midlands. This collaboration opens the door to greater independence and stability, giving individuals a place to truly call home.
We also provide ongoing support to help them uphold their tenancy agreements, ensuring they understand their responsibilities and feel confident in managing their accommodation. From budgeting and maintenance tips to navigating tenancy-related challenges, we’re here every step of the way to promote a positive and sustainable living experience.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a practical and evidence-based approach to mental health and well-being. It’s all about understanding the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours—and using that understanding to make positive changes in your life.
Sometimes, unhelpful thoughts or patterns can hold us back, making everyday challenges feel overwhelming. CBT helps you identify and challenge these patterns, replacing them with healthier ways of thinking and reacting. It’s like learning new tools to navigate life’s ups and downs with greater confidence and resilience.
CBT is tailored to each individual, focusing on what’s important to you and your goals. Whether it’s managing anxiety, coping with stress, or building better habits, it’s a collaborative process that empowers you to take small, meaningful steps toward the life you want.
At its heart, CBT is about progress, not perfection—supporting you to move forward at your own pace with practical skills you can use every day.
How Does CBT Benefit the People We Support?
Our CBT sessions cover PSTD, as well as mood, anxiety, and affect disorders. They are led by our dedicated trainee CBT practitioner, Megan Smith, who plays a vital role in shaping personalised support plans and driving meaningful breakthroughs in mental health and coping strategies for the individuals we support. Through CBT, many have made sustainable progress on their journey to greater independence. They’ve achieved remarkable milestones, such as reducing their required weekly support hours, transitioning to lower staff-to-individual ratios, and, most importantly, feeling happier, more confident, and in control of their lives. These sessions empower individuals with practical tools to overcome challenges and build resilience, helping them unlock their potential and achieve their personal goals.
